  • Medium saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (16 ounces) tart apples, about 4-5 apples (such as Golden Delicious,

    Fuji, or Granny Smith), cored, peeled, and sliced 1/2-inch thick

  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) water

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the apples, water, sugars, lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, or until the mixture resembles applesauce with some texture of apple slices still intact.
